Over the Edge - A Special Event to Support Special Olympics of Nevada

On October 8, 2010 if you looked high above the Las Vegas skyline you would have seen me rappelling down 51 floors of the Rio Hotel! OK, I know it sounds crazy. Even I had second thoughts about doing this, but it was just too good to pass up and it was to support such a great cause - Special Olympics of Nevada. I needed to raise at least $1,000 in order to qualify to rappel down this behemoth 520 feet tall structure.  When all was said and done, I raised over $1,300.  This was a once in a lifetime experience and one I will never forget.

Special Olympics is such a great cause. They provide FREE year round sports training and competition opportunities for children and adults with developmental disabilities. But Special Olympics is much more than sports, it is training for life. Participants gain self-confidence and life skills that carry over into their every day lives, making them a contributing member in their community.

The money raised from this "cliff hanging" experience will go a long way to help Special Olympics continue to provide services to Special Olympics athletes for FREE. I would just like to thank all my sponsors and supporters for helping make this a very special event.
