Why we are writing about the R-J copyright lawsuits
Some commentators are wondering why the Las Vegas Sun, and our sister publication In Business Las Vegas, have published so many stories about the Las Vegas Review-Journal/Righthaven LLC copyright infringement lawsuit campaign.
Emergence of B.J. Bell could provide UNLV defense with spark
UNLV junior defensive end B.J. Bell knows the challenge facing the Rebels’ Saturday won’t be easy. They open the season by hosting a No. 12 Wisconsin team that is led by one the nation’s top offensive lines. The front unit returns all five starters and has been together for most of the last two seasons. The challenge, however, is nothing in comparison to the recovery process Bell has endured since injuring his shoulder last September
A taxing debate?

Obama critics misplace their blame
Anyone who bashes President Barack Obama for the state of the economy is like a guy who smokes three packs of cigarettes a day for 30 years and then one day realizes he isn’t feeling well, so he goes to a doctor, who quickly diagnoses him with lung cancer.
Extremism of Angle’s views again on display
Despite the recent efforts of her handlers to “soften” her image in advance of November’s general election, a recent report — that Republican Senate nominee Sharron Angle agreed with a radio talk-show host that there are “domestic enemies” of the United States serving in Congress — demonstrates exactly how out of touch she is with most Nevadans.
Anti-socialism rhetoric: Should it apply to military?
Republican Senate nominee Sharron Angle and other anti-tax advocates should now focus on excessive socialistic military expenditures. After all, annual expenses for defense and veterans, at more than 20 percent of the national budget, do constitute a larger sum than health care costs. The United States spends as much on defense as all other nations combined.
Big spending for precious few votes
